Our story

We married in 1993, went into full-time ministry three years later, and have spent most of our adult lives raising a family in front of a congregation.

How it started

Draft placeholder: a few paragraphs in your own words about how you met, your wedding on March 20, 1993, and what the early years looked like.

Thirty years in ministry

October 2026 marked thirty years of full-time ministry for us. Today we serve as lead pastors of Hope Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

For roughly twenty of those years we've also coordinated marriage enrichment for our church organization. That means a good part of our life has been spent helping other couples do the same work we're doing at home, and we've learned at least as much from them as they've learned from us.

Marriage under the microscope

When you're in ministry, your marriage becomes part of your public life whether you want it to or not. People notice whether you sit together, how you speak to each other, and what your kids are doing on Sunday morning.

We've found that the answer isn't pretending to be perfect, and it isn't putting everything on display either. It's deciding ahead of time what we'll share and what stays at home, and agreeing on how we'll protect each other when the pressure comes.

Transparency doesn't mean everyone gets a key to the house.

Our family

We have four children, all grown now and building their own lives, marriages, and careers. We're also grandparents to three granddaughters, which has been the best part of this season.

Our kids didn't sign up for a public life, so we're careful about what we share about them. When they show up on this site, it's because they've chosen to.
